SHENZHEN - Chen Guijun, a young migrant worker, could hardly contain his excitement after he watched a women's volleyball competition at Shenzhen Universiade on Sunday, along with his wife and son, and other 99 migrant worker families.

"I had never dreamed of watching an international games with my families. It's much more enjoyful than watching it on TV, and my kid just can't stop cheering for the players," said Chen, who worked in a logistics company in Guangzhou.

The Chens are one of the 100 migrant worker families that joined the "Dreams Come True" tour organized by Guangdong provincial government and companies including Nanfang Daily Group.

During the one-week tour starting from August 20, the 100 long-apart migrant workers will watch games at Shenzhen Universiade, visit scenic spots both in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and attend various parties especially set for them, for free.

Guangdong province, which contributes approximately 12 percent of China's national economic output and the home to the production facilities, embraces more than 20 million migrant workers. Many of them have to be separated long from their familis for earning the bread and butter far from home.

"It's so good a plan. We do not need to pay for the accommodation and round-trip tickets, which are big cost for us," said Zhang Xiaolin, who had aparted from his wife and child for five years. "I was in debt to them and I will make full use of the one-week time to make up."

Xu Jingju, who came for this plan with her one-year-old baby girl from central Hubei province, said: "We are tired for spending 15 hours on train, but it's quite worthy. My girl only saw her father twice since she was born." She hopes there will be more activities like this.

According to the orgranizers, the plan will be launched every year around August 6, when the Chinese celebrate their traditional "valentine's day".
