First fund dedicated to children, youth, powered by 50m yuan investment

Since Jaguar Land Rover first entered the China market in 2010, the company has been engaged corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs as a means of giving back to society. With continued growth in the world's second-largest economy, the British automaker is now taking another step in that direction with the Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund.

Powered by a donation of 50 million yuan ($7.9 million) spread over three years, the fund will support local initiatives for China's young people, especially underprivileged children and youth, to help them reach their goals and make their own personal contributions to society.

The Dream Fund was launched last Wednesday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The ceremony included speeches, performances by children and the check handover to its fund partner, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

A number of the Dream Ambassadors who will work closely with the fund were also introduced, including celebrities such as composer Zhang Yadong.

Although not the biggest premium car company by market share in China, Jaguar Land Rover is determined to become a major force for social responsibility, said Bob Grace, regional president of Jaguar Land Rover Greater China.
