Builds more New Nippon Paint Plants in Asia

Nipsea Group held a completion ceremony for its third Vietnam-based plant, Nippon Paint Vinh Phuc (NPVP), in Ba Thien II Industrial Zone, Vinh Phuc province, on Oct 14. The plant will produce both industrial-use paint for automobiles, motorcycles, marine coatings , resin and decorative paint.

As the zone's first foreign direct investment project, NPVP, covering an area of 60,000 square meters, has a registered investment capital of $14 million and an annual production capacity of 15,000 tonnes.

Up to 500 new jobs will be created, providing a huge boost to the Vietnamese economy. "We are seeking to exploit the full market potential of automobile and motorcycle manufacturing in Hanoi and Vinh Phuc," said Wee Siew Kim, CEO of Nipsea Group.

"The opening of the Vinh Phuc plant is a major milestone in the history of Nippon Paint in Vietnam and is also a strategy for Nipsea Group to expand investment in the ASEAN region," he added.

Back in 1994, Nippon Paint Vietnam opened its first plant in Bien Hoa II Industrial Zone, Dong Nai province, producing decorative paint and paint for heavy industry. In 2005, the second plant was built in Quang Minh Industrial Zone, Vinh Phuc province, producing paint for automobiles and motorcycles.

Nippon Paint China, established by NIPSEA Group to lead paint businesses in Asia, is planning to build new plants in the city of Changsha and Qingdao, China, to exploit new market potential in the painting sector and accelerate its development of a service-oriented market plan.

With Nipsea Group expanding investment in Asia, Nippon Paint China is increasingly enlarging its paint markets. Making efforts to become the top brand of base material and auxiliary material in the building industry, Nippon Paint China has a complete set of facilities, including paint manufacturing plants and powder material plants, which are located in 15 cities all over the country.

Eric Chung, president of Nippon Paint China, announced the company's brand upgrade at a press conference in Beijing, saying that Nippon Paint China needs to adopt a new service-oriented approach to meet customer expectations and stay competitive in the market.

The brand upgrade program includes new brand recognition, an entire range of coatings system, a complete product system, a new home-painting service, and better corporate social responsibility. This will help the company become a comprehensive service provider with promoted technology innovation and an expanded range of diverse products.

Nippon Paint China is trying to change into a comprehensive paint services provider in a bid to meet the ever-evolving needs of customers.
