The Huizhi Life Center in Shanghai Pudong Software Park, also known as SPSP, is expected to add color to the park's industry community when it becomes operational by the end of the year.

"With the center in use, the park will be able to provide an ecological and innovation environment for enterprises to research and develop software products," said a senior manager from the SPSP Co Ltd, who asked not to be identified.

The center, which covers an area of 110,000 square meters, contains a hotel, a large supermarket, a new cinema, restaurants, entertainment facilities, training institutions and a retail network.

"It is a step the park has taken to improve its business environment and make it suitable for employees to work and live in," said the manager, who added that 562 firms were based there.

The park has built 25,454 square meters of incubators with five nursery projects launched, three accelerators completed and 32 enterprises graduating from incubators.

Some enterprises at incubators have obtained risk funds of 188 million yuan ($30.1 million) under the help of the park.

Of the funds, $12 million went to Himalaya Company, a mobile Internet firm providing APP solutions, 35 million yuan to Fruitday, an e-commerce importer of fruits, and $10 million to Qiniu, a company to provide the cloud storage technology.

Thanks to the hatch value-added service, six small and medium-sized enterprises obtained more than 3 million yuan from the city government last year for technology innovation.

The park's financial service co-op has also provided 10 enterprises with loans of 22 million yuan.

SPSP formed six pillar industries covering chip design, mobile Internet, e-commerce, industry application, culture creativity and IT service outsourcing.

The service outsourcing industry, one of the six, includes Citigroup Software, ChinaLink Professional Services and HCL. The National (Shanghai) Outsourcing Promotion Center was unveiled in May 2013.

The center launched www.ospc.cn in October 2013. The website attracts 146,530 views a day and includes 6,000 database companies, more than 500 registered enterprises and more than 16,000 outsourcing projects.

The center cooperates with eight cities, including Changsha in Hunan province, Luoyang in Henan province and Chongqing, and has contact with institutions from the United States, Finland, France and Singapore.

A company has been set up to take responsibility for construction and operation of the center's software technology value-added service platform.
