Small village reserves big changes

Xiwang village, located in Handian county, Zouping city, Shandong province, is a small village with only 712 residents. But it was rewarded as the "No 1 IPO village in China" for its four listed firms, six private enterprises and fifteen tertiary industry companies.

The developments of local rural enterprises have contributed to improve Xiwang's rural residents' social care system, living environment and bead house construction.

A total of 38 million yuan ($6 million) was invested to build a group of apartments for the village's elderly.

Rural civilization action in Shandong, "a group interview by national online media", was held on Sept 10 at Shandong Museum, Jinan city, Shandong province.

Hundreds of online media journalists from nationwide have joined the activity. The group interview will cover 12 cities and last until Sept 15.

The aim of the activity is to show and promote changes in people's living environment, life philosophies and spiritual outlook in the Shandong countryside.
