Quanjude uses QR codes to curb counterfeiting

By Liu Zhihua | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2017-01-12 13:49

With the Spring Festival around the corner, Quanjude Group has updated the packaging for its vacuum-packed Peking roast duck.

The Quanjude restaurant chain is very popular for its Peking roast duck among visitors to Beijing, but a vacuum-packed version of the delicacy is often gifted to those who cannot dine at its restaurants, and thus are a prime target for counterfeiters.

Now, with the new packaging, customers can scan the QR code on the package to confirm the authenticity of the product.
