Once upon a time, there was a man who decided to do a silly thing. He didn't realize it was a silly thing at the time, that came later, as is often the way when doing silly things.

Because my wife was working in Tianjin a few years ago, I naively thought it would be a convenient place to sign up for phone service. What I didn't realize was that my colleagues in Beijing would ignore my calls because they thought a scammer was targeting them from another city.
