Tourists in Suining county, Central China's Hunan province, have a chance to gather with local Miao Ethnic people to celebrate their annual Women's Day, which falls on Friday - the 8th day of the 4th lunar month.

The Miao Ethnic people's Women's Day is a festival that commemorates a heroine named Yang Liniang in Song Dynasty (960-1279AD).

Listed as a national-level intangible cultural heritage, the festival is nowadays celebrated in the border areas of Central China's Hunan province, Southwest China's Guizhou province and South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
