Eight China debuts and six CIIE debuts: advancing food security through agricultural innovation
Advancing agricultural modernization and high-quality development requires sustained innovation in science and technology. Rooted in China for more than 60 years, Bayer Crop Science continues to combine global innovation resources with the practical needs of Chinese agriculture. Through innovations across its three business areas in China—crop protection, corn seed and vegetable seed—the division contributes to the country's food security. At this year's CIIE, Bayer Crop Science is showcasing eight China debuts and six CIIE debuts.
Addressing crops' needs for nutrition and stress tolerance, Bayer launched its Crop Performance Enhancer brand Delai at the 2025 CIIE. This year, the brand is showcasing Delai Amino-acid Magnesium as its "CIIE baby." As Bayer's next-generation biostimulant, the product is rich in 19 free-form L-amino acids that work in synergy with active magnesium to provide more efficient, targeted nutritional support at key stages of crop growth. The progression from the brand's launch to the unveiling of a new addition to its portfolio further illustrates the CIIE's spillover effect in bringing innovation into practice.
Ougude and Fengkeqi, Bayer's two next-generation SeedGrowth products newly launched this year, are also making their CIIE debut. Designed to address early-season management needs in corn, peanut and wheat, the two products provide protection against diseases and pests from an earlier stage. Each has been validated in more than 200 local trials, demonstrating consistent performance and practical value across different regions and growing conditions.
High-quality seeds are also a vital foundation for food security. At this year's CIIE, Bayer's Dekalb corn seed brand is introducing eight new corn varieties in China. Tailored to the diverse growing needs of the Northeast, Northwest and Huang-Huai-Hai corn-growing regions that encompasses parts of the Yellow River, Huaihe River and Haihe River basins, the expanded portfolio offers growers more choices to meet their expectations for better yields, stress tolerance, disease resistance, lodging resistance, and high grain quality. Bayer's vegetable seed brands Seminis and De Ruiter are also showcasing a range of flavorful varieties including tomato, sweet corn, sweet pepper, onion, cucumber, and broccoli, and debuting Starlisher (DRTC8103), a new truss cherry tomato variety. These varieties meet the diverse needs of growers and consumers, connecting field and table through innovation.
Innovation is extending beyond products to agricultural services and knowledge empowerment. The Dekalb Learning Center, which brings together field trials and demonstrations, agronomic training and knowledge sharing, is making its CIIE debut. Meanwhile, Bayer Crop Science's e-commerce flagship stores are participating in the expo for the first time, bringing professional agricultural solutions to a broader range of scenarios through channels such as Tmall and JD.com.
Connecting China and the World Through Open Innovation and Unlocking Two-Way Value through the CIIE
Over nine years at the CIIE, Bayer has continued to use this open platform to connect global resources with opportunities in China. On the one hand, it accelerates the introduction of global R&D achievements and solutions to China. On the other, it helps bring practices shaped by China's needs, local insights and partnership models to a broader stage, creating a two-way flow of innovation.
During this year's CIIE, Bayer will host dozens of partnership signings, achievement launches and dialogue sessions across its two booths, bringing together government bodies, medical and research institutions, industry associations and business partners. The booths will serve as platforms connecting China's innovation ecosystem with global collaboration networks. The Pharmaceuticals Division will deepen collaboration in clinical research, research translation, primary healthcare capacity building and the prevention and treatment of major diseases, helping integrate experience from China's clinical practice and scientific research into global R&D. The Consumer Health Division will focus on self-care, scientific evidence and industry collaboration. Through industry forums, joint laboratories, partnership signings and product launches, it will help bring insights from Chinese consumers, local R&D achievements and partnership models to broader markets, contributing China's insights to global health development.
Looking ahead, Bayer will remain rooted in China and connected to the world. It will apply its innovation capabilities in life sciences to meet China's evolving healthcare and modern agricultural needs, while continuing to deepen local innovation, open collaboration and industry partnerships. In doing so, Bayer aims to move more innovations from the exhibition floor to the market, from research to application, and from products into everyday life—creating long-term value together with the Chinese market and its partners.
