Cross-Strait cultural industries fair fosters creative collaboration
The 17th Cross-Strait Cultural Industries Fair, concluding this Sunday in Xiamen, Fujian province, has attracted numerous artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to explore creative fusion and market opportunities. The four-day event gathered over 1,000 institutions and featured dedicated displays for Fujian-Taiwan folk arts, including puppetry, wood, and stone carving, allowing cross-Strait craftsmen to showcase their skills and learn from one another.
With a strong focus on youth engagement, the fair invited 63 universities from across the Strait and organized 24 themed activities, such as city walks, concerts, and salons, to foster deep mutual understanding among the younger generation.
Lin Jung-tzer, former acting chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang party, highlighted the fair as an exceptional platform for integrating cultural and creative industries among youth. He emphasized the shared cultural roots of both sides and expressed hope for increased cross-Strait interactions.
