Along the banks of the Huangpu River, the giant vessel sets sail. Nestled in the heart of the Qiantan International Business Zone in Pudong, Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan marks its first anniversary since opening.

With the concept of "An Urban Riverside Sanctuary", the hotel blends the brand's century-old legacy of elegance with the vibrant urban dynamism of Qiantan, crafting a new chapter for luxury hospitality in Shanghai.

"Over the past year, we have rooted ourselves in Qiantan and grown alongside the city. We are grateful for the company and generous support from every guest, partner and member of our team. This first year marks the starting point of a new voyage," said Stephane Roubin, general manager of the hotel. "Moving forward, the hotel will continue to uphold Waldorf Astoria's craftsmanship, continuously elevate experiences in accommodation, gastronomy and lifestyle. On the banks of the Huangpu River, we will reimagine modern luxury."

Shaped like an ocean liner moored by the river, the hotel has its architectural design headed by globally renowned firm KPF, while Hong Kong-based Cheng Chung Design masterminded the interior. With a forward-thinking design language, the property interprets Waldorf Astoria's century of legendary sophistication.

The hotel features 204 spacious and refined guest rooms and suites, with entry-level rooms starting at 52 square meters. Ninety-seven percent of the rooms come with private balconies, and over 90 percent offer sweeping panoramic views of the Huangpu River. A curated selection of suites is equipped with outdoor jacuzzis, offering serene retreats for guests. As guests gaze out the window, the magnificent Shanghai skyline unfolds before them. Amid the bustle of the metropolis, visitors can discover a peaceful riverside sanctuary.
