The Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology celebrated 130 years of educational history and 70 years since its merger at a development conference in Shaanxi province on Saturday.

Widely regarded as one of China's "Eight Old Schools" of architecture and civil engineering, the university has trained more than 350,000 students over the past seven decades.

The event drew representatives from more than 100 Chinese universities and research institutions, as well as 58 representatives from international organizations and partner universities in 27 countries and regions.

The university said it would advance research in green buildings, urban renewal, and digital twins as it seeks to contribute more to China's urbanization and sustainable development.
