12-year-old wins two honors at national rocket competition

A 12-year-old girl from Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, won two honors at a national competition for building rocket models after taking up the hobby just over a year ago.

Chen Yiran, a seventh-grade student at Yinchuan Yuehai Middle School, finished second in the women's S6 streamer duration event and fifth in the women's S2 payload rocket event at the 2026 National Aeromodelling and Spacemodelling Championships, which recently concluded in Wuzhong, Ningxia. She was the youngest competitor.
