Qingdao vice-mayor probed for suspected serious violations of Party discipline

Gao Jian, vice-mayor of Qingdao, Shandong province, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of Party discipline and the law, the Shandong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Shandong Provincial Supervisory Commission said on Monday.

According to publicly available information, Gao, 53, is a native of Pingdu, Shandong province. Born in August 1973, he began working in August 1993 and joined the Communist Party of China in July 1998.

Gao previously served as head of Shinan district and Party chief of Shibei district in Qingdao before becoming vice-mayor of the city in 2025.
