China investigates ex-State power grid chief

Xin Baoan, former chairman of State Grid Corporation of China, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, the country's anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Friday.

The announcement was disclosed online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were released.

Public records show that Xin, 66, a native of Henan province, has worked in the nation's power grid sector for many years. In early 2021, he became chairman of the State Grid Corp of China.
