Pop icon Leon Lai will bring the Beijing stop of his Leon Lai ROBBABA Concert 2026 tour to the National Indoor Stadium on Sept 12, promising an immersive production that blends music, storytelling and cutting-edge stage technology.

The ROBBABA tour marks Lai's latest large-scale concert project, introducing a new creative concept that moves beyond the format of a traditional live performance.

Centered on the theme of adventure, the production unfolds through an original narrative set against a vast ocean-inspired world, featuring the tour's signature "Rabbit Captain" character.

The concert will feature an upgraded stage with laser effects, multilevel staging and cinematic lighting to create an immersive theatrical environment. Organizers said the production team has paid close attention to every aspect of the show, from visual effects and sound engineering to set design and song arrangements, aiming to deliver a seamless audiovisual experience.

Born in Beijing, Lai moved to Hong Kong as a child and entered the entertainment industry after placing in the 1986 New Talent Singing Awards. He went on to become one of Asia's best-selling recording artists, known for his smooth, understated vocal style and romantic ballads, while also building a successful acting career.

His acclaimed films include Fallen Angels, directed by Wong Kar-wai, and Forever Enthralled, by director Chen Kaige, in which he portrayed Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang.

A highlight of the concert will be Lai's reinterpretation of his classic hits alongside newer material. Known for his warm, distinctive voice, the singer has built a career spanning decades, with songs that have become enduring favorites across the Chinese-speaking world.

The Beijing performance is designed as a musical journey through Lai's artistic career, inviting audiences to revisit beloved melodies while experiencing them through a fresh creative lens. Blending nostalgia with new material and immersive storytelling, the show aims to connect generations of fans.
