Dunhuang scenic areas roll out heat-relief measures as temperatures top 40 C
In the Yangguan and Yumen Pass tourism area, water trucks make regular rounds to reduce ground temperatures, while mist cooling facilities, heat-relief supplies, medicine, and herbal tea are provided to make outdoor visits more comfortable.
"Our goal is to create a more comfortable environment for every visitor," said Wu Fengping, deputy manager of the scenic area. "We also pay close attention to our frontline employees, providing them with cooling supplies, watermelons, drinks, and other support so they can better serve tourists during the hot summer days."
The measures have received positive feedback from visitors.
"I think the heat-relief measures here are very thoughtful," said Qi Ruiyan, a tourist from Shandong province. "There are mist sprays and shaded resting areas along the route, which make the visit much more comfortable."
