BEIJING -- China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has rolled out a series of emergency measures to support flood relief and agricultural recovery efforts in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, located in South China, which has been hit by severe rainstorms and flooding caused by Typhoon Maysak.

The ministry has dispatched 22 tonnes of disinfectants, 9,300 protective suits and other epidemic-control supplies to help prevent animal diseases in the affected areas, according to the ministry on Monday.

It has also sent experts and officials to hard-hit regions for on-site guidance and problem-solving.
