Guangdong boosts agricultural sales with rural logistics network
Delivery companies across Guangdong have transported 30,700 metric tons of lychees this year, generating 5.35 million parcels that contributed to the province's 1.13 billion yuan ($166.62 million) in agricultural product sales, as an expanded rural logistics network connects more villages to national express services.
According to a statement released by the Guangdong Provincial Postal Administration earlier this week, the network was built out during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), when authorities extended a three-tier delivery system covering counties, towns, and villages. The expansion has supported the growth of rural e-commerce and helped local farmers ship specialty produce to markets across the country.
China Post, SF Express, and JD Logistics now cover all administrative villages in the province, ensuring that more than 19,000 villages have access to at least three express delivery brands, according to the statement.
