A park claiming to be the first pilot mosquito-free park in Beijing has begun using intelligent mosquito-capturing technology, reportedly capturing up to 20,000 mosquitoes in a single day.
Yongdinghe Park, located in western Beijing's Mentougou district, has installed eight smart devices. According to a park management staff member, the traps emit a specialized gas that attracts the insects. The gas is paired with heat sources and black lights to maximize attraction. "Once the mosquitoes approach, they are instantly sucked into a collection tray," the staff member said. "Each unit can trap between 2,000 and 3,000 mosquitoes per day."
