China to issue 450m yuan in travel vouchers this summer

More than 450 million yuan ($66 million) in vouchers will be distributed nationwide this summer to boost tourism, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The ministry on Wednesday launched the summer culture and tourism consumption season in Qinghai province. The campaign will run from early July through the end of August.
More than 30,000 culture and tourism consumption events will be held nationwide during the campaign. Local authorities will expand the supply of high-quality tourism and cultural offerings, including summer getaways, coastal vacations, nighttime travel, cruises and yachting, family trips, study tours, culinary experiences and museum visits.
