Lithium battery pioneer Chen Liquan wins the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award

Chen Liquan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was awarded the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award on Wednesday for his pioneering contributions to lithium-ion battery research and its industrialization.
Over a five-decade academic career, the 86-year-old scientist has oriented his research toward national strategic needs, achieving fundamental breakthroughs in battery science, advancing their industrial application, and helping propel China's new energy transition.
