Two good samaritans rewarded for rescuing girl thrown into ditch

A young girl is in stable condition after being rescued promptly from a ditch by two bystanders on Wednesday in Chaoyang district of Shantou, Guangdong province, according to local authorities.
The bystanders have since been rewarded by a local foundation for justice and courage, a notice issued by the Xilu township government revealed.
Upon investigation, it was found that a man suffering from mental illness had thrown his sister into the ditch, and two passing good samaritans immediately intervened and worked together to rescue her.
The man has been sent to a psychiatric hospital for treatment, the notice added.
