Culture park immerses visitors in illuminating nighttime activities

The Shanghai Expo Culture Park unveiled a night tour program in August, transforming the venue into a vibrant evening destination that combines illuminated gardens, artistic installations, and cultural activities throughout the summer.
The centerpiece of this nocturnal setting is the greenhouse garden's three distinct zones, which feature lighting designs, multimedia installations, and interactive elements.
"This is our first nighttime project in the greenhouse garden," says Zhang Feng, operations manager of the Shanghai Expo Culture Park located on the former 2010 World Expo site on the riverside of the Huangpu in the Pudong New Area. "Our initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience, energize the park's nighttime atmosphere, and boost the venue's evening economy."
The experience goes beyond mere illumination. "We've specifically designed an immersive lighting system guided by storytelling," Zhang adds, describing how visitors can follow the adventure of Darwin, a small robot, as it helps a space orchid discover its earthly home.
"We've created a unique fusion of ecological education and aesthetic artistry," Zhang says.
