Video: Pastures of possibility in Honglian village

Once a quiet farming community in Zhejiang's Jiaxing city, Honglian village is now buzzing with life. Thanks to land consolidation and eco-friendly upgrades, fields once scattered are today lush, high-standard farmlands. At the heart of this revival is the Dongxing dairy farm, where families from Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou arrive in droves — sometimes up to 30,000 visitors a day. Children feed calves, parents sample fresh milk, and local eateries thrive.
Village Party secretary He Linfeng says the transformation has turned Honglian into a model of rural vitalization, blending agriculture, tourism, and community development. "Visitors don't just come for the milk—they come for the experience," he notes. With modern infrastructure and cultural tourism, Honglian is redefining what rural China can offer urban families.
