Flights from Guangzhou and Shenzhen impacted by heavy rainfall

Airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Guangdong province, reported widespread flight delays on Tuesday due to severe weather conditions. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

As the situation became increasingly severe, local flood control authorities upgraded the flood emergency response level in Guangdong from Level III to Level II as of 2pm on Tuesday.

China has a four-tier emergency response system for flood control, with Level I being the most severe.
