Young director support program announces winners

The China Film Directors' Guild's Young Director Support Program, an annual initiative aimed at discovering young talent, awarded special recognition to 10 aspiring directors in Beijing on July 9.
The winners include female directors Miu Jina for her rural-themed drama Duck Hill, which explores the life of a left-behind child, and Cao Yinuo for her fantasy comedy Wild Bird, which follows a group of production crew members struggling to salvage their failed TV program.
Li Shaohong, the program's initiator and a celebrated director, said that this year marks the program's 9th edition, and it has helped more than 30 aspiring filmmakers realize their directorial dreams in China's film industry. "This proves that our dedication has been meaningful, impactful, and driven by a sense of responsibility," said Li.
