Dolby cinema halls land in popular Beijing retail area

Dolby Laboratories, a leading player in immersive entertainment, and Emperor Cinemas recently opened two new halls in the latter chain's cinema in Sanlitun Taikoo Li, a premier shopping destination in Beijing.
The first of their kind, the halls are equipped with integrated Dolby Vision, an advanced ultra-vivid visual technology, and Dolby Atmos, an immersive audio technology.
Brad Pitt's latest blockbuster, F1: The Movie, was screened during the opening event, which also featured a brand-new Mercedes-AMG vehicle. Mercedes contributed professional car racing expertise to the film.
Tony Lan, director of Cinema Sales and Partner Management for Greater China at Dolby Labs, said the company aims to bring immersive experiences to audiences, enabling them to resonate more deeply with their favorite films.
Bill Lee, general manager of Emperor Cinemas (Chinese mainland), expressed hope that halls No 5 and No 6 will provide audiences with the latest and most advanced cinematic technologies supplied by Dolby.
