Wedding buses become latest marriage trend

It has become a new fashion for couples to rent buses as wedding vehicles in China, as related videos and photos went viral online during the recent National Day holiday.
As part of traditional Chinese wedding customs, the groom will fetch the bride from her home with friends and family, driving in a parade of cars. They drive from the bride's home to the venue where the ceremony will be held. The cars are decorated with flowers, balloons and red ribbons.
Now, some bus companies also provide services for weddings. In Yantai, Shandong province, it costs about 3,000 yuan ($410) for a day to rent a bus with 30 seats, a driver and decorations. For double-decker buses, the cost is about 4,000 yuan, China News Week reported.
By comparison, renting six high-end cars may cost about 8,800 yuan for four hours.
New bride Wang Lingxia told Chutian Metropolis Daily in Hubei province that an ordinary wedding car can only accommodate several passengers but all friends can play together on a bus. During her wedding on Oct 3, they took photos on the bus and sang songs.
Such services are available in many cities including Chongqing, Wuhan, Hubei province, Guangzhou, Guangdong province, and Fuzhou, Fujian province.
