The Fengyun 3E and 4B weather satellites and their ground application systems officially entered operation to support global forecasting and emergency disaster reduction on Thursday, according to the China Meteorological Administration.
The two satellites were launched last year and entered trial operations in June.
During the flood season, they helped analyze the structure of typhoons and predict the impact of wind and rain.
So far, China has successfully launched 19 Fengyun weather satellites, of which seven remain in orbit, providing data and services to 124 countries and regions around the world.
