While blind dates are never rare in China, dating shows of ordinary people are gaining an increasing popularity within recent years. Such shows have become the epitome of views on love and marriage of young Chinese people.

The new season of reality show Set out for Happiness will be broadcast weekly on CCTV-3 starting 7:30 pm on Tuesday, seeking to help people in their 20s find potential love.

The program team went deep into the living and working environment of the participants, and present their work, daily lives, and personalities via short videos. After watching the videos and short communications, the female participants get their chances to choose one man out of the three presented to them to meet face-to-face. The two will then decide whether to date each other, following a 60-second love confession time.

The program also invites a lineup of celebrity observers and psychological experts, including Chen Zhiyan, a professor with The Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Science, to give suggestions to the young participants and answer their questions on intimate relationships.

The first episode will feature singles from Changchun city, Northeast China's Jilin province. They come from different walks of life, such as teachers and lawyers.
