The Vietnam branch of the Chinese Literature Readers' Club was formally established in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam, on July 26. An online symposium themed on Cuangaideming (translated as: Changing Destiny), a book written by Dong Xi, was held as the club's first event. This event was live-streamed on the official website of CHIBOOKS, a Vietnamese company involved in importing books.

Chinese writer Dong Xi, cultural counselor of the Chinese embassy in Vietnam Peng Shituan, president of the Writer Association of Ho Chi Minh City Zheng Biyin, and general manager of CHIBOOKS Ruan Lizhi, as well as nearly 40 local people related to culture and publishing industries attended the event.
