Former senior municipal legislator under probe

BEIJING -- Chen Jiadong, a former senior legislator in the city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province, is under probe for suspected severe violations of discipline and law.
Chen, former chairman of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal People's Congress, is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, according to a statement released Friday.
