On the evening of Jan 29, French fashion brand Pierre Cardin held a news conference at the Reignwood Theater in Beijing to present its new collection.
Just one day prior, a fashion show in tribute to the brand's founder Pierre Cardin, who died last year at the age of 98, was staged at the Le Bourget National Air and Space Museum outside Paris. Designed and orchestrated by his nephew Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the show talks about space, the universe and humanity's dreams of the cosmos.
Basilicati-Cardin gave a Facetime interview after Chinese journalists finished watching video of the show.
"I hope people will never feel the brand has lost its original character. It is my greatest mission to expand the soul and life of the brand," he said, as the current head of the label.
After the interview, 13 sets of sports suits from the brand's 2022 winter collection were presented by models and world figure skating champions Pang Qing and Tong Jian.
Fang Fang, chief representative of Pierre Cardin China, said "the brand wishes to encourage more young people to enjoy winter sports."
