Art village in Wuzhen holds 10-day cultural event series
As large-scale events have been cancelled across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more New Year celebrations have transformed into virtual events. In Wuzhen's Midnight Road, the Xinzha International Innovation Zone built by the government has also ushered in a new cultural industry park: Wuzhen Lang Park•Art.
Operated by Lang Park, a Beijing-based cultural industry brand, Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art is positioned as a "digital international cultural and art village".
According to Qian Bi, general manager of Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art, Wuzhen has already experienced three upgrades in the past 20 years – a sightseeing town to a holiday town, then into a cultural town. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit local tourism in Wuzhen, but the digital industry is still booming. Lang Park hopes to attract more young people in the theater, music, art, culture and creative industries, making Wuzhen a spiritual sanctuary for them outside the metropolis.
