Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS Bank

A1: DBS has been joining the CIIE for four consecutive years since the inception of the CIIE in 2018. As the first national-level import expo in the world, the CIIE offers foreign companies a local platform to feature their products and services to local buyers and other local stakeholders. As a bank that is at the forefront of digitalization, DBS brings our best-in-class digital solutions encompassing trade, foreign exchange and cash management to be showcased during the CIIE.

A2: In the context of the spread of COVID-19 and the recovery of the world economy, the CIIE provides a rare opportunity for companies from all over the world to expand business opportunities and stimulate their trade potential. COVID-19 has caused many international exhibitions to be postponed or cancelled. The successful holding of the CIIE demonstrates the strong willingness of China and other countries to deepen economic and trade cooperation.

A3: China is playing an important role in global economic recovery. The country's share of the world economy is growing, and this will promote economic development in a more sustainable direction and continue to contribute to global economic growth.

A4: DBS Bank (China) Ltd is a subsidiary of DBS, one of Asia's leading financial services groups. DBS China's business focuses are institutional banking, wealth management, global transaction services, treasury and markets.

A5: DBS believes that the business environment in China will continue to flourish. Many financial market liberalization measures have been taken in China. More and more foreign enterprises, including DBS Bank, have chosen to participate in the expo, and have continued to expand their investment in China. On the other hand, the smooth development and upgrading of the CIIE is a microcosm of China's commitment to improving the business environment.

A6: We believe that China has reached a high-level of opening-up to the world at present, which is reflected in every aspect of foreign investments entering China. DBS Group has been supporting China's financial development and opening-up over the past three decades.

This year, DBS Securities (China) Ltd, DBS Group's majority-owned securities joint venture, is honored to become the first securities joint venture in China from Singapore and ASEAN.

We will continue to facilitate China's economic growth and ultimately contribute to its dual-circulation strategy.

A7: China has always been an important contributor to the world's economic development. In the future, we hope that China will continue with a higher level of opening-up, strengthen and expand the convergence point of interests and cooperation, and introduce a new model for cooperation and development.

A8: Today, China is the world's largest trading partner for many countries. The two-way flow of business and activities between China and the rest of the world is so integrated that it is very hard to unbundle, especially at a time when the global economy is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizing of this expo for four consecutive years is a strong and positive signal to the world.
