The First Fuzhou Cultural and Creative Ecology Conference and the 18th Forum on International Cultural Industries (China) were hosted Aug 16-17 by Peking University in online and offline formats, with in-person venues in Beijing as well as Fuzhou, Jiangxi province.

Founded in partnership by Peking University, the Fuzhou committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Fuzhou government, the first Fuzhou Cultural and Creative Ecology Conference included seven forums and exhibitions that centered on building a culturally strong country and new development paradigm.

The 18th edition of the Forum on International Cultural Industries (China) is the first such event co-organized by Peking University and a municipal government, marking the university's innovative cooperation with Jiangxi province.

Wang Bo, vice president of Peking University, said that apart from strengthening cooperation between the university and Jiangxi province, he hopes that the forum will boost the emergence of new ideas and concepts, provide spiritual power that will lead the pace of an era, and make sustained and favorable contributions to China's construction of a culturally strong country and its ecological civilization.

The conference also marked the founding of the Chinese Cultural Heritage and Innovation Think Tank Alliance and the release of the Fuzhou Declaration that sets the guidelines for the alliance. The alliance is jointly established by 34 universities and social research institutions around the world, aiming to integrate global think tank resources, share information and findings, and provide references for the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.
