French sculptor Jean Cardot, who died in October, is known for executing three statues that became Paris landmarks --- Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle and Thomas Jefferson.

Eleven sculptures by Cardot, who was a member of the  Académie des Beaux-Arts, the premier institution of fine art in France,  are in the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. One of his works, Bull under the Sun, was installed and unveiled in the National Art Museum's Sculpture Park.

Cardot created the work in 1968, and donated it to the museum in 2019 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-French diplomatic relationship.
