The first 5-kilometer run in Nike's "You Can't Stop Run" NRC Research Institute-Beijing 100 Days Running Challenge project kicked off at Q Mex Bar & Grill's CBD branch on Thursday night.

150 runners from the capital participated in the event, including members from Hi Running Club and Longyuan Iron Man.

The project was launched on Aug 30, and runners from various communities set their own 100-day goals. It calls on a wider group of people to join the sport.

Each runner or running group may have different running goals, but a 5 km run is a good start to pursue personal goals. Nike will organize 5 km runs each month to support running communities.

The first run was co-organized with Mexican cuisine restaurant chain Q Mex, and the event was also a celebration of the restaurant chain's eighth anniversary.
