Gansu provincial People's Congress convened


Gansu province has made great progress in poverty alleviation last year, helping over 935,000 people out of poverty according to the government work report released at the third session of the 13th People’s Congress of Gansu held in Lanzhou on Friday.
According to the report, 31 poverty-stricken counties and all Tibetan areas have been lifted out of poverty, reducing the number of poverty-stricken people by 935,000 and lowering the poverty rate to 0.9 percent.
The achievement laid a solid foundation for the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, the report read.
The per-capita disposable income of rural residents in poor areas also increased by more than 10 percent.
In the first three quarters, the added value of the province’s primary output increased by 5.9 percent, topping all other provinces in China.
