The Train Inn Shanghai

Huochezhan, or the Train Inn, in Shanghai is set in a chain of railway carriages and features a cafe, bar, restaurant and hotel.

A steam locomotive made in Tangshan, Hebei province in 1972, three soft-sleeper compartments made in Germany in the 1960s, one dinning lounge carriage and one hard-sleeper compartment made in China in 1970 make up the Train Inn.

The dining lounge carriage has kept its original decor and one carriage is decorated in the style of the famous Orient Express.

The food is a combination of Shanghai and Cantonese cuisine, as well as dishes from other Chinese regions, and shrimp done three ways is the restaurant's signature.
