What immediately comes to your mind when you think about Swiss cuisine? Cheese fondue? Raclette? Rösti or Swiss chocolates! We all love the iconic and delicious classics, but Swiss food is more than these signature delicacies. Do you know that Switzerland has the most gourmet restaurants per capita among all countries in the world? The cuisine of Switzerland is rich and creative, with both historic and contemporary influences from its neighboring European countries and beyond.

To bring the true taste of Switzerland to China, Hotel Éclat in Beijing has invited Michelin star chef Armin Amrein to bring an extraordinary culinary experience to its customers. In collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland, Swiss Gastronomic Week will run from Sept 19 to 21 – an exclusive series of three-course lunch menus and six-course dinner menus, giving you a chance to savor the delightful culinary art of Chef Amrein, a true master of Helvetic gastronomy.

Originally from Lucerne, Amrein discovered his passion for food in a cookery course during his schooldays. After training in cities throughout Switzerland, he has been chef de cuisine of a number of the best restaurants in the country, including the 5-star Bürgenstock Resort and the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Walserhof in Klosters, which includes the British Royal Family among its illustrious guests. He now leads his very own restaurant, Glow by Armin Amrein, the leading Michelin-starred fine dining destination in Davos, the highest town in Europe, a glamorous holiday resort famous for hosting the World Economic Forum.

For his Swiss Gastronomic Week residency at Hotel Éclat, Chef Amrein has created special menus to bring an authentic and original Swiss culinary experience to the diners, staying true to his traditional culinary principles, insisting on superb quality and absolute freshness, while leaving a little room for an experimental touch.
