"It's always new and challenging."

Speaking about his experiences at work, Zhang says that after doing a trailer for I Am Not Madame Bovary, Zhang was asked by director Feng Xiaogang to do one for his next movie, Youth.

Zhang's trailer for Youth was awarded Best Foreign Music Trailer at the 19th Golden Trailer Awards in Los Angeles.

"When I produce a trailer, I put myself in the director's shoes, and when editing a film, I follow the roles. Thus, as I believe, the best way to present each scene will come out naturally in my mind," says Zhang.

When he edits films, his aim is to let them roll naturally, so the audience does not even notice his cuts.
