Zhang is a workaholic when it comes to editing films.

He is a soccer fan, but he skipped the Russia World Cup matches on TV, as he was working on Hidden Man.

Even during the previous two World Cups he was busy working on Jiang's movies.

"I am a 'fake' soccer fan now," he says.

"I set a goal to work with Jiang when I got enrolled in college in 2006, but at that time he had just completed shooting his film (Let the Bullets Fly), so I waited for four years until his next film was launched, and tried my best to be in his crew.

"I first saw his movies when I was in high school," says Zhang, who was born in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province.

Speaking about his love of movies, Zhang, who began watching foreign movies on VCDs, says: "In junior middle school, I would save my lunch money and use it to buy VCDs at the weekends. My dream was to run a VCD store then."
