Sixteen groups of Chinese folk singer-songwriters, headlined by Lao Lang, Su Yang and Zhang Weiwei, will perform at the upcoming Yao Tu Folk Music Festival, which will be held on August 18 and 19 in the Yellow River Stone Forest, in southern Jingtai county, Baiyin city, in Northwest China's Gansu province.

Meanwhile, 67-year-old Hong Kong singer-actor Lowell Lo Kwun Ting, who is known for his songs in classic Hong Kong movies such as A Chinese Odyssey, a two-part 1995 Hong Kong fantasy-comedy film directed by Jeffrey Lau and starring Stephen Chow, will be part of the festival.

Other music personalities expected at the event include Chinese folk singer-songwriters Chen Hongyu, Wan Xiaoli and Ma Tiao.
