The Park connected Russia and China

Moscow International Film Festival is the largest Film Festival in Russian and also one of 12 Competitive Feature Film Festivals recognized by the FIAPF. Stating in 1959 the festival runs every two years and this year marks it's 29th anniversary.

This year being the year of friendship between Russia and China, China has a group representative in the Moscow Film Festival. Yunnan New Film Project 'The Park' leads in the main competition while 'The Case is part of 'Year of China in Russia' screening program.

Participants from 'The Park' graced the red carpet at the Opening Gala ceremony on the 21st June held at the Pushkinsky Cinema. The Pushkinsky Cinema is a marvel of Russian architecture and the ceremony itself was to mark the 100th anniversary of the release of the first Russian movie (1908).

'The Park' Press Conference held on 22nd June with director Yin Lichuan and actress Li Jea. answering questions from the press. One journalist commented how as an elderly man who has two daughters he completely identifies himself with the father in the film and thanked the director peronally for making such a heart felt film.

After the Press Conference 'The Park' screened at 1500 seating theatre hall with over whelming reception with tear jerking moments. Audiences commented that rarely there has been such a film coming from China dealing with contemporary life. 'The Park' is felt to transcend cultures and crosses national barriers since its emotional core is universal.
