The Peach Blossom Land as the third film of Yunnan New Film Project (YNFP) is going to be shot this spring. Zhang Cheng, the popular screenwriter, who wrote the Crazy Stone and the promising young director Huang Ruxiang will create a black humor about the Peach Blossom Land.

The chief producer the director and the screenwriter get interview in Sina.

Zhang, the screenwriter, says himself actually a serious person, but he also enjoys different styles of films. According to Zhang, it's not so easy to write this story. Because the essay of the Peach Blossom Land, wrote by Tao Yuanming thousands of years ago, was too famous. The essay described a perfect paradise in China and it has been rooted in Chinese for thousands of years. Everyone holds his own feelings and images of the Peach Blossom Land, so it is important for the screenwriter to find a special way to tell the story.

According to Zhang, the story will focus on the ordinary people in the way of black humor. Some ridiculous people come to an unusual place and do some ridiculous things. The idea of the story came from a kind of news when discussing scripts with the producers. Zhang thought it very interesting and wanted to add more to make an unabridged script. Now the frame of script and the characters have been clear, and the vital thing is to enrich the character and details through the Rationalism Accounting System.

Huang Ruxiang, the director of Peach Blossom Land, enjoys focusing on the ordinary people too. Before the cooperation, Zhang has already watched Huang's works which also represents an ordinary people's fate and full of the flavor of black humor. Zhang thinks director Huang, different from the other female directors who only prefer one kind of mood, and he believes the director will have the strong ability to control the image and the mood.

Huang Ruxiang, graduated from Beijing Film Academy majoring in Photography, was the only female student in the class, since photography is not a suitable job for female. She said she was too young to be afraid at that time. Now she thought she was very lucky to join YNFP. She works very well with the screenwriter. Huang thinks the script is very good and has the enough space for her to create and she admits the difficulties are big too. Huang hopes to put some fresh elements in the film and make it more interesting. She is looking for a way to make a perfect match between the content and the form.

The film is going to be shot in Wenshan, Yunnan this spring. It has a very mysterious place as the same as the scenes described in the essay thousands of years ago. And the local people just call it the Peach Blossom Land.
