China hopes to boost Mexico ties

China is ready to strengthen communication and collaboration with Mexico to jointly promote China-Latin America ties, State Councilor Yang Jiechi said when meeting Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto in Mexico City on Monday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yang conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings to Pena Nieto, and said China hopes to work with Mexico to implement the agreements the two countries' leaders have reached and further enhance pragmatic bilateral cooperation in fields such as trade, investment, energy, infrastructure and financial services.

Pena Nieto said his country is committed to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with China, and hopes to expand the two countries' cooperation in fields such as trade, investment and aviation.

Yang also talked with Mexican Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu on Monday over China-Mexico ties and international and regional issues of common concern.
