Huge Asian art festival launching in capital
The annual Asian Art in London festival, which involves more than 60 major art dealers, galleries, auction houses and museums, will run for 10 days from Thursday to Nov 12. The celebration of Asian art will feature exhibitions, selling shows, auctions, receptions, lectures and seminars and take place at various locations in and around the capital. Venues supporting the event include the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Ashmolean Museum, the British Library, British Museum, and Fitzwilliam Museum.
Schools offered China recruitment tips
Schools and universities that want to attract more Chinese students can get some tips at Content Marketing in China-Strategies for Universities and Schools to Help Attract More Students on Thursday. The Confucius Institute at Lancaster University is hosting its fifth annual lecture, China and Africa: An Evolving Relationship in a Complex Globalized World, on Thursday. Frannie Léautier, senior vice-president at the African Development Bank Group, will speak from her perspective as someone with a 25-year-career in Africa and around the world, in both the public and private sectors.
Jeweler focuses on Asian designs
Miranda Rhys Williams will speak about contemporary Asian art jewelry on Friday at Asia House, New Cavendish Street, London. Beyond the Rocks: Asia and Contemporary Jewelry is being hosted by the Bagri Foundation, a UK registered charity that provides education, relief work and health initiatives within Asia and promotes the region's cultural heritage. The event is part of the Asian Art in London 2016 festival.
