After two years of reconstruction, Dujiangyan Wenmiao Temple reopened to the public in May 2013. A series of traditional rituals were held at the opening ceremony.

The temple, also known as Confucius Temple, is located in Dujiangyan, a city in Southwest China's Sichuan province famous for its ancient irrigation system.

Dujiangyan Wenmiao Temple was originally built in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (AD 907-960) period, and then relocated to the east of the city in the early years of the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Later in the Ming Dynasty, the temple was burned down. In 1929, the 18th year of the Republic of China, Guanxian County Junior Middle School was established on the site of the temple, which was renamed Guanxian County Middle School in 1952.

The temple was damaged in the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, and the school moved to a new location.

In 2013, adhering to its original layout in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the Dujiangyan municipal government completed temple reconstruction.

Dujiangyan Wenmiao Temple offers traditional Chinese studies classes and seeks to restore the traditional six classical arts with help from the Cultural Resources Research Center of Peking University for Chinese Cultural Renaissance.
